My 2014

My 2014 has nit seen many results of what I have been doing. I mean, a lot was happening but the results are not visible, which is a shame and doesn’t make me particularly happy in this last day of the year. Yet, talking about a passing away one should either say good things or keep silent. And as in my recent interview to CNN the journalist was amazed by my optimism (well, he’s never asked my wife for comment on this…), these are my brief but only positive memories of my 2014:
– we managed to travel a little bit: St Petersburg, Luxembourg, Belgium, Malta, around England,
– after a year of living outside of the capital we got back to the very centre of the city. And the size of our flat doesn’t matter, what is much more important is that I can walk everywhere now,
– I made several public talks about Russia and the Russian language,
– I was interviewed several times by Russian and international media (damned vanity),
– in the summer my second Russian language textbook was finally published and is now sold world-wide,
– we started camping more frequently – first in the tent, now in our tiny camper-van (of course, we’d like to travel more),
– almost finished my third book, but have not completed it which is a shame, but the story seems to get more and more complicated, characters misbehave completely,
– together with my partners and colleagues we ran the children’s creative competition and exhibition Russia4Brits.
That’s pretty much it 11.5hrs before the start if the New Year.
